October was a good month for our lodge.  First, I want to thank those who went to Rossville, including Bro. Winston MacMillan, Wor. Charles Seaford, Bro. Ian McKellan and Wor. Pablo Rocha.  We had a great trip and the brothers at Rossville Lodge were most hospitable in providing us meals and fine fellowship including an excellent cookout.  We were also blessed with an exemplary program on King Solomon for our October stated by Rt. Wor. Mike Pobat of Herndon Lodge – thank you Mike!  November has already been a busy month with the Grand Annual Communication, which will be followed by Grand Chapter.

I want to thank those who attended this year’s Grand Annual Communication with me, Rt. Wor. John Shroder and Rt. Wor. Mike Riley.  We also have a wonderful program coming up for this month’s stated communication, provided by Mt. Ex. Don McAndrews on the Royal Arch and we will be welcoming home our new DDGM, Mike Riley, congratulations Mike!  We will be holding our elections for next year’s officers at our special annual communication, scheduled for December 7th, the first Monday in December, hope to see you all there.

Finally, I want to thank all of you who have supported Elmer Timberman Lodge this past year.  Overall, we have had a good year during which we have had many good times and done many things, and with some lessons learned, we can look forward to an even better 2016!  It has been my distinct pleasure to serve you as Worshipful Master for the year 2015

Sincerely and Fraternally,
Farley W. Warner, Wor. Master

October will be a busy and productive month for ETL.  First, we will be having our annual Masonic exchange with the Rossville Lodge.  This year we are doing the travelling, which promises to be a most rewarding experience.  Rossville has several fun activities scheduled for us in the area, in addition to opening the lodge to conduct business.  For those not going to Rossville, the Masonic Home of Virginia plans to hold Family Day on Saturday, October 10 at the home in Richmond (contact the Masonic Home of VA for more information).

We have an excellent program on King Solomon planned for our Stated Communication this month.  The presenter will be Rt. Wor. Michael Pobat from Herndon Lodge #264.  The program will also include a reciting of the Master Mason obligation.

Congratulations to our three newest Master Masons, Shane Beener, Vaughn Spencer and Tom Turner, who were raised during the One Day Conferral held on August 29th.  All three candidates have been certified as to their proficiency and I thank the candidates’ mentors, Bro. Jake Redden, Bro. Winston McMillan and Bro. Charles Wilkinson Jr. and the members of the Proficiency Committee, Rt. Wor. John Shroeder,  Wor. Jason Lotz, Wor. Neil Marple and Wor. Chaz Wilkinson for their efforts to educate and certify the candidates.

The Scottish Rite will be holding its 2015 Fall Reunion on consecutive Saturdays of October 17th and October 24th at the Scottish Rite Temple in Alexandria.

Finally, the Grand Lodge of Virginia 2015 Grand Annual Communication is scheduled for November 4 – 7 at the Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa.  If you are interested in carpooling to Richmond for the day on Saturday, November 7, contact Rt. Wor. John Shroeder – hope to see you there!

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Farley W. Warner, Wor. Master

Dear Brethren:

June promises to be an important month, starting with the raising of a Brother on Monday, June 1st at the lodge. The following night on Tuesday, June 2nd, we will be making a fraternal visit to Springfield Lodge, see myself or one of the stationed officers for details. All brethren who are Master Masons are encouraged to attend.

June begins our casual dress for our summer Stated Communications, so relax and enjoy! Also, the District 1B School is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24th, to be held at our lodge. This is an especially important school since it will be held at our lodge and we will be practicing the second section of the Master Mason Degree. All line officers and brethren wanting to learn or practice a part in the second section of the Master Mason Degree are strongly encouraged to attend.

We will hold our annual lodge picnic on Saturday, June 27th, from 11:00 AM to 3 PM. Bring your family and friends, all are welcome! As always, I am open to your thoughts on upcoming activities and things to do to make our lodge a better place for us to practice Freemasonry, so don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any suggestions.

Fraternally yours,
Farley W. Warner Worshipful Master

It is my great honor to be your new Worshipful Master for the year 2015.  In keeping with my theme for the year, “Brethren learning and extending a helping hand, "we will have a program on this year’s theme about lifetime learning in Freemasonry presented by Wor. Neil Marple at our stated communication on January 19, 2015.  We have a great year planned for 2015, including activities such as York Rite Night, featuring our Virginia Grand High Priest, Don McAndrews. We will also have a Scottish Rite Night featuring Wor Mike Riley 33rd Degree, a Past Masters night, a Warden’s Night, a Table Lodge and Fraternal Visits to other lodges in our District and other nearby neighboring lodges.

In March we will be presenting our District Deputy Grand Master, Ron Heald. Also, this  year in September we will be travelling to visit our good friends at the lodge in Rossville, Georgia.  There is also a special One Day Conferral for the Degrees in Freemasonry scheduled for August 29.  I would also like to emphasize continued development of our membership throughout the coming year – let’s all get out there and through our helping hands extended to our community and all persons in general we can spread the good word about Masonry. I hope this will help bring in new Brothers and thus continue to revitalize our lodge.

In keeping with this year’s theme emphasizing education, I would like to extend an invitation to any of our Brethren who have papers or programs you would like to present them, let me know.  Also, remember our Simmons-DeRossi School and attend when possible within the length of your cable tow.  Finally, if you have any ideas you would like to offer for activities or for the betterment of our lodge, let me know.

Sincerely and Fraternally,
